Hast-Melap realizes that young adults from the Indian-American community often feel caught between two different worlds, two different sets of expectations. On the one-hand, many of their friends seem to be having a great time, meeting new people, dating a seemingly endless number of attractive and “fun” peers. But their parents may want them to avoid the dating scene altogether or perhaps just go out with other Indian-American youth in groups rather than as couples. Hast-Melap provides a process which will help young adults meet potential marriage partners – attractive, educated and intelligent – who will also meet their parents' expectations in terms of family background.
